Reminders - help/suggestions needed

I am building a set of reminder documents for 2.0.  The design goals are:

  1. provide print, email and SMS templates
  2. the format of the grouped and single reminders are identical (except that the grouped one contains multiple reminders for one or more patients)
  3. no customisation required (ie uses the letterhead facility to proved location dependent content such as phone, webpage and logo)
  4. where provided uses the Description and Notes fields for the reminder type - so that for the Reminder Type Name (eg  'Bordetella Vaccination') it uses the Description (eg 'Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Vaccination') and if present adds the Notes field (eg 'A Kennel Cough Vaccination is required if your dog spends time in boarding facilities and is highly recommended if your dog goes to grooming.')
The use of the Notes field means that one does not need single reminders tailored to each different reminder type.
  5. adds a line '*** This is now overdue ***' if the reminder is now overdue (thus obviating the need for separate 'Reminder First' and Reminder Second' templates)
  6. email looks good in Outlook, Gmail/desktop, and Gmail smartphone

The email looks like:

The printed version like:

In the above the highlighted text is coming from the Grouped Reminder template, the rest from customisable fields.

I have not yet done the SMS template(s) - however, I am leaning twowards having a very generalised one that simply says (for the grouped reminder version) "One or more of your pets is due for a vaccination, health check, test or procedure. Please call 9999 9999 for an appointment".

So - help/suggestions/feedback needed:

Q1: Does anyone have a better title/heading than "Veterinary checks and vaccinations"? I really want something that would include desexing and other procedures - but "Veterinary checks, vaccinations etc" does not feel 'professional'.

Q2: any other comments/feedback?

Re: Reminders - help/suggestions needed

Hi Tim,

We use the term "A friendly reminder" and this encompasses all reminder types.   If you use this then you don't need the word 'reminder' above the customer id.   This also works then for the grouped reminders along with routine vaccinations, and also if you wanted to have a specific reminder type eg "Medical health check" or "long term medication health check".

Cheers

David

Re: Reminders - help/suggestions needed

Thanks David - will adopt this. Trilby (practice manager) also wanted the reminder to go to the patient - so in our customised version we have:

with the email subject set to "Zz Dog - you are due for a vet check"

[The last line says in Cantonese 'if you would prefer English, please call ..". If we have you tagged as a Cantonese speaker, then the reminder is all in Cantonese with the last line in English. To support this our reminder types have descriptions and notes both in English and Cantonese - amazing what one can do with customised archetypes.]

Nothing to add. Looks fantastic and the internationalisation customisation is really impressive Tim!
