Display a calculated total for an template

One of the common question I get is what does this template cost ... When templates are shown in the selection window while invoicing the unit and fixed prices are blank.

Is it likely to be possible to show an estimated price for a template ?  I recognize that this might be quite complicated given templates may use patient wgt data to calculate certain item totals.  We could preface the total with ~ to indicate it is an estimate and the final value of the template is determined when its billed.

Re: Display a calculated total for an template

An alternative would be to add a Price column which displays the price for billing a single unit, including tax.
This could also include a button to launch a window that allows the price to be determined given:

  • the no. of units being supplied
  • the patient species and weight
  • practice location

Re: Display a calculated total for an template

Personally I think a button is overkill, but if more people wanted that I dont have a problem with the idea.  I think the idea of showing a guesstimate of what a single unit would cost is what people expect.  Do you need a price column?

Currently we show unit / fixed in 2 seperate columns.  Perhaps they get removed from the display and get replaced with a calculated price (inc tax) that gives a single unit price.
