Help with customization

Hello, not sure if these forums are getting a lot of attention now. I am setting up two practices using this software and I am a visual learner when it comes to most things. Does anyone know if there are any recent youtube or websites that would have the current customizations that are available?

Hi,

There are no videos of customising OpenVPMS from what I am aware.  Just the pretty comprehensive notes available on this web site.    If you need specific pointers in the right direction post here.

The clinic asked if I can change out the log-in screen with their logo instead. I told them I would find out. I know the open-source programs I've used in the past had no issues doing this but wanted to make sure it was ok. 

I noticed the states were not populating so either I need to download a database or turn the on in a feature I cant find. 

Also, do you by chance know if there is a download that can be imported into OpenVPMS that have maybe the top 100 drugs for small animals and also the same with US dogs Insurance companies?

Hi Jeff,

You can but the login screen is currently defined in a jsp file in the webapp (login.jsp) so this would need to be repeated after every upgrade.

We do have a data file for Australian Postcodes but we haven't had anyone put up their hand to provide an equivalent US version which would populate states, towns etc.  See the postcodesAu.xml file in import/data folder for the format.

Unfortunately not but again we have a data import format as per above that would allow someone to create them.  We have a demo database load (import/data/demo).  The products.xml file includes a base set of products but it is very old and most likely out of date.

Tony, I have a list of the all US states, cities and zip codes but am a little hesitant to give this a go. Can you refer me to someone who might be willing to add this to my instance of openVPMS fee for service of course?

Hey Tony, I just sent an email to Lisa asking if it was ok to start adding products and services into my current version of openvpms. Didnt think to ask her lead time until just now.
