New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

It would be great if new client info could be entered by the new client and load directly into OpenVPMS as a new client record. Alternatively the info from PetYeti online appointment data load directly into OpenVPMS as a new client record. Or both? Any capacity or possibility of doing this?

Re: New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

Hi Jim,

I know of a private OpenVPMS cstomisation that allows clients to enter/update customer and patient details via an ipad or tablet that integrates closely with the OpenVPMS check-In workflow.  I will discuss with the owners of this private customisation if there is a possibility of having this made available commercially to other users.  Will keep you posted ..

Cheers

Hi James,

Suggest we take this conversation offline as not related to OpenVPMS but a commercial add-on product ..  will contact you.

Cheers

I would happily fund or part fund this

Re: New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

We could make it easier to transfer customer and patient details associated with an online booking to a new customer and/or patient.

At the moment, unknown customers just have their details entered into the Booking Notes. Users can then manually create the customer and/or patient using the notes.

We could provide support to streamline this so that customer and patient can be created at the touch of a button.

The main limitation is that the various booking providers only supply minimal customer and patient information. While we can provide an API to enable more details to be provided, the online booking providers don't currently capture it directly. I know PetYeti can be configured with custom questions that will come through as notes in the booking.

A second approach would be to take the data from your new customer web form and convert it into something that can be loaded into OpenVPMS. There would be two parts:

  1. an OpenVPMS API that allow new customer and patient information to be loaded
  2. a tool that takes your form data and sends it to the OpenVPMS API

We can provide 1., but 2. needs to be done outside OpenVPMS as we can't directly integrate with your website.

Always happy to contribute to developing the OpenVPMS API layer further.

Keep us posted.

Re: New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

Hi,

During the pandemic, has anyone been using an online form that can be sent to client to complete at home or on their phone while they wait in the car? Our new client forms are on ipads which we aren't giving to the public. So we are collecting the clients information verbally.

We are wondering if we will go back to letting the public use the ipads again or if there is a long term solution where they can complete the form on their own devices.

Re: New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

I'm not aware of anything that does this at present.

You could create a Wufoo or google form that you embed in your website that duplicates your client forms.
An OpenVPMS plugin could then read customer submissions to the forms and import them into OpenVPMS.

An alternative and possibly simpler solution would be to enhance your new client forms so that they are accessible to customers outside the practice.

Re: New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

Hi Greta,

We made a QR code that linked in this case to client self check in, but could just as easily direct to a wufoo or google form. Clients that arrive get handed a piece of paper with the QR code and check in instructions. They fill the form in on their own devices.

Actually worked really well.

Re: New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

hi,

I really hope you would be able to help us. we are trying to implement this, how did you link the google form/wufoo to open. or do you still have to manually enter the clients details.

Re: New Client info from website direct to OpenVPMS?

Hey guys,

We also started using a new client email template.

We have two versions.

a) A customer template in OpenVPMS (we create a minimal details  client (email and name) for the appointment). We prefer this becuase it creates a communication log that the form has been sent.

b) A pdf template in google drive that we send as an email.

Clients either;

- Email back completed records prior to appointment

- Bring with them

We have found that quite afew clients (more than what we expected) seem capable of editing pdfs these days. I confess we are handing out new client forms to clients now, especially those who  are non-internet capable.

The booking application I built  - captures everything - it sends email/client name/pet name/ all through - obviously it ends up as a booking note currently.
