Printer problem with new upgrade

Hi,

We upgraded to OpenVPMS v1.8 last night, however today when we try to print to our label printer it is coming up with an "internal application error".

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Shanon

I haven't seen any error report. Are you able to submit one?

Failing that, can you email <TOMCAT_HOME>/logs/openvpms-full.log to tanderson at openvpms.org.

Re: Printer problem with new upgrade

Hi Tony,

Thanks, I just submitted the error report through openvpms.

The dymo label writer doesnt seem to be printing through the dymo label software now either, it comes up with "object reference not set to an instance of an object".

When I right click on the dymo printer properties in the control panel printers section it says the printer driver is not installed on this computer. I assign the driver, but every time I right click on printer properties it it comes up with the same message.

I can test print to the dymo in notepad still however.

I havent changed anything except for installing the new openvpms software last night. Very strange.

Many thanks,

Shanon

Re: Printer problem with new upgrade

The error "NullPointerException at sun.print.Win32PrintService.getMediaPrintables" is referred to in a bug at https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8020208

If its the same problem, you may be able to correct it by upgrading to Java 8.

For the second issue, "object reference not set to an instance of an object", take a look at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-hardware/fat...
