mac implementation

my windows laptop is on the way to laptop heaven, now wanting to upgrade to mac server operating system. where do i find mac implementation (preferably an idiot guide) similar to the windows implementation guide.

There is no specific guide for the Mac. Yuri's Windows 7 Installation guide is very good - hopefully you can adapt it your needs. Feel free to document your steps so that others can benefit.

Hi,

Apologies for late reply.  Also not getting notifications.

I have attempted to get OpenVPMS up on a Mac and I can get everything running accept the background Open Office task.  This is a PITA on OSX due to the nature of the Startup Items and daemons in general.  If this can be solved the rest is pretty straight forward.

To solev the issue I have actually implemented parallels or Fusion on the Mac and built a nice virtual Ubuntu box whcih I run openvpms on.  Setting up ubuntu and the necessary Open Office background task is easy and very robust.

Alternatively setup a Cloud based Ubuntu/Windows server .. gettng more requests to do thsi and works well.
