Body condition and dental scores

Hi all,

Would anyone else find it useful if there were fields on the history where you could place body condition scores and dental scores that would then enable you to do a search to target those animals that require dentals or weight loss programs?

Re: Body condition and dental scores

What about if these were just added as new Medical record types (like Note, Weight etc)?

Body condition and dental

Sounds like a fantastic idea to me- probably having them as new lookups so the scale is standard within the practice.

I am not sure what the best way to do it is - currently we record them in a clinical exam macro but we cannot search it. Or should I say "I cannot search it". Extrating the info in large amounts and targeting those clients/patients for followup and extra marketing/education is my goal. I'll leave the rest to you tech heads.

Hey Amanda, If you are after a keyword search from medical records with a patient/customer list it already possible. (Can even search a variety of different versions of the same criteria) I can send you an SQL if you like or a report if you prefer.

Re: Body condition and dental scores

Hi all,Think these would be useful but if it is like putting a weight in, we would probably not use it as it takes too long to enter the information.Glen On 22 September 2010 08:50, <mnave@bigpond.net.au> wrote:

I think you might be right Glen. I'm not sure that I would end up using it either with the current configuration. Perhaps we should put this on hold until we have used the new visit editor in 1.5???

Amanda, I shared a patient history search report about a month ago that might be useful for this kind of stuff: http://www.openvpms.org/customisation/patient-history-search. With some modification you could use it to export as csv contact details, etc for marketing purposes.

Re: Body condition and

Hey guys, Interesting comments re Matt Y & Glens use of other medical record types. Sounds like the method of adding new medical record types other then Notes might need some attention. This will be slightly different in 1.5, so will be interesting to have some feedback from you guys after you have had a chance to play with the new Visit Editor.

As per Amanda's suggestion re the addition of a new medical record type, I don't see any problems being caused by it's addition (it won't slow down people who don't use it :) ) and if your clinic uses the different record types with no problems, there is no reason we can't get a developer review on this suggestion if you are keen.
