Dealing with a variable reminder period

How do people deal with variable reminder periods for a product or service reminder?

For example, proheart injection would need a reminder in 3 months if the dog is 12 weeks old, 9 months if it's 6 months old or yearly if it's >1 year old.

I've created a separate "product" for each situation but it would be better if you could make the reminder period interactive as it is applied so that it could be changed while charging rather than having to manually going in and changing it.

Re: Dealing with a variable reminder period

Hi Matt,I agree that some reminder types or reminder type links to products should be interactive.  Currently they are not and users change the reminder after it has been generated automatically during billing. Making the reminders interactive is not a difficult task so worth getting JIRA'd and into the development list.  Could even add some smarts based on age etc .. i.e expression support for the period ...Cheers Tony On Fri, Dec 4, 2009 at 12:43 PM, <matt@companionanimalvet.com.au> wrote:

Interactive reminder periods

Hi guys,

Would the "smarts" be used to return a default date Tony? And would the interactive period dialog be just a date field as in the age/date of birth field?

I would guess within the reminder type/product link we would have a tick box (interactive) so that those who did not want another pop up could turn it off for certain reminder types?

I have been toying with the idea of having a zero value product that can be charegd furing invoicing that would automatically create a reminder of that is delviered as an sms. For example a short text to remind clients that they have a revisit due in the next 48 hrs. This would be very handy is this context.

Dealing with a variable

Sounds great Tony,

It would certainly reduce the margin for error and therefore lost income.

Dealing with a variable

Good idea, you can then be sure that a reminder has been generated as well, which increases awareness amongst the staff that there has been a followup request performed on that patient
