BOMs and Services

Hi all,

Is anyone aware of any way to attach lists of stock controlled inventory items to a service (Bills Of Material)? I don't see anything in the system to support it. If so, how are you handling situations where something's primarily a service, but materials are used in administration of that service. We don't want to clutter our invoices, and it seems that if we split out every little thing on there it would become rather lengthy (for a surgery for instance).

We're presently using a manual replenishment system for inventory control. It leaves much to be desired -- and so I'm investigating using the inventory/suppliers module more fully.

Hi Paul,
The only two approaches I can suggest are:
1. Manage the consumable components of these services differently. One option is to manage them manually by recording bulk usage and then entering zero invoices regularly to record the use of the consumables and update stock.
2. Use Product templates and update invoice print template to not detail certain product types but sum them instead through grouping.
