Email going to Office365 - any advice on setup

Good evening

Our hosted email provider is dropping hosted Exchange so we have been forced to go to a new provider who uses Office365.  This means I have to configure the email settings in to use smtp.office365.com with STARTTLS as the sender.

The new environment is setup and working with general email but when I just tried it as a setting in OpenVPMS I got a sending error?  The old system has not gone off the air yet so emails are still going out but I am wondering if anyone has configured office365 as the outgoing mail location and if there are any tips for a new player!

All help much appreciated .... if I get a solution I will email what sorted it.

Thanks
Des

What error are you getting? The port should be 587.

Hi Des,

You will need to get your provider to setup an office365 mail connector as per option 3 in this article:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-...

and then update your openvpms mail server settings as shown in the article.   i.e connectro name , port and security settings.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Tony
