Medical records, multiple entries for single visit

Sometimes in patient medical records for single visit each item (note, weight, meds etc) is seperated by problem listing without clinician. Is occurring when only single consult/ invoice and work straight through consult process. All clinician fields are the same. No editing done after complete. Single invoice.
So far apparently random event.
Understand easily done with hospital cases and adding client charges/ counter sales.
New to system, sorry if previously discussed.

Thanks,
James

Medical records, multiple

Hi James,

Ths issue has been raised before and has been detailed in a JIRA entry which is a request to fix an issue on the OpenVPMS site.  You can see the entry here

jira.openvpms.org/jira/browse/OVPMS-823

Now typically if you go through a standard check-in, consult, check-out process it will not occur.  The reason is a In Progress visit is created during the check-in process and used in the conult and medications are correctly attached to this visit.  Now if charges are enetred through charges before th echeck-in process then the issue occurs.  Also under some scenarios where the visit is being set to "Completed" but I haven't been able to replicate this yet.

Anyway would be good to rectify and I believe we have a way to solve but just need to get development funded.

Cheers

Tony

Thank-you

Tony,

Thank-you for all your replies. Will follow up after read link.

Re: Medical records, multiple

Hi James and Tony,

We still this error pop up reasonably frequently. We have a script that runs in a seperate program nightly to automatically COMPLETE visits older then 2 weeks to minimise this a bit. Whilst it would be great to bug fix this specific issue I am reminded of this recent discussion in the forums;

http://www.openvpms.org/forum/workflow-consult-process

I think that Visit editing and Medical Records in general is due a bit of a reworking. This could be a reasonably involved project. If everyone is keen I will start a Active Development project for this. Namely its mandate would be to rework the Medical Records Editing process with particular consideration as to how this will impact on the most common workflow of all, the "Consult" from Schedule/Worklist workflow. I would expect this might be a quite lengthy consultation process so it will be very unlikely to get into the upcoming 1.4 release.

Like every project we will need two ingredients for this to work - active contribution of opinions and ultimately funds to get the ideas into everyday reality at our practices.

A yea or nay to whether this should be an active area of development will suffice and then I will start with asking key questions to guide the process along :)

Cheers, Matt C
