Using OpenVPMS in UK

Hello,
I am new to OpenVPMS. We are considering implementing it in our practice. Apologies if these questions have been asked before.

1. Has anyone had experience of using OpenVPMS in the UK?
2. Is it easy to convert OpenVPMS to operate in £sterling?
3. Does it integrate with UK accounting software (e.g. Sage)?

On a separate matter:

4. Is there a search function for the forums at openvpms.org?

Using OpenVPMS in UK

Hi Cahir,

I can't answer all your questions, but I'm sure someone will.

The search utility on the website can be found in the top right of each page on the site:

Just enter your search here and press enter.

Alternatively you can go to www.openvpms.org/search. There you will also find an advanced search option to search just parts of the site such as the forums or just specific forums. There is also a google tab there that will do a google site-search of openvpms.org and jira.openvpms.org.

Hi Cahir,There have been a number of forum queries about OpenVPMS from the UK but I am not aware of anyone who has implemented live in a practice as yet.  This doesn't mean it hasn't been though . :-) It should be straight forward to operate in pounds sterling.   Just create a new currency type in lookups and associate with the practice.  Display formats etc are driven by local operating system and browser settings (your locale).  You will also need to create a new Tax Type for VAT I believe. Currently OpenVPMS does not directly integrate with any accounting software. Current users utilise weekly or monthly reports to get figures to manually enter into their general ledger system.
